- What hardware do I need?
- A tablet or screen for the kitchen, and your existing card machine (EFTPOS). Guests use their own phones.
- Does it replace my till?
- No. NextGen Pay adds QR ordering and a kitchen screen. Keep your till and card machine. Replacing the till is not what we sell.
- Can customers still order from staff?
- Yes. QR ordering is optional for guests. Staff can still take orders the usual way.
- What happens if Wi‑Fi fails?
- Guests and the kitchen screen need the internet. If the network drops, treat the board as possibly out of date and use your usual floor process until it comes back. We never hide a missed order.
- How do refunds work?
- If they paid on your card machine, refunds follow your terminal and bank. If they paid by card on their phone, refunds follow that card payment. Pay by Bank cannot be refunded. Staff can cancel a kitchen ticket according to your venue policy.
- Can I switch items off when sold out?
- Yes. Hide a dish in your workspace so it stops appearing on the guest menu.
- How long does menu setup take?
- Many venues can enter a first menu in one sitting. We can help during onboarding. Photos and extras (size, sauce) take a little longer.
- How do staff know an order is paid?
- Pay as-is: they pay how they already pay and staff take the money — the ticket arrives unpaid until staff mark it paid. Pay by Bank or Pay by Card on their phone: the ticket arrives already paid.
- What support is available?
- Email support during published hours, with weekend emergency on-call. Talk to us.
- Can it support food trucks?
- The core flow is table or venue QR ordering. Food trucks can work with a venue QR and a pickup process, but we do not yet have a dedicated truck landing. Talk to us if that is your main use.
- Can it integrate with my current system?
- You go live with QR ordering and the kitchen screen alongside your existing card machine. You do not need to connect another till system first.
- What is live today vs coming next?
- Live: Take Payments (QR or link), Take Orders (QR ordering and a kitchen screen), and Take Bookings. Pay as-is — they pay how they already pay; staff take the money. Pay by Bank — they pay from their NZ bank on their phone. Pay by Card — card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay on their phone. Your workspace and staff PIN. We do not market upcoming items as available now.
- Can churches or community groups use Take Payments?
- Yes. A church or community group can take payments only — no food menu or kitchen needed. Print a QR, or copy the link and send it by text or WhatsApp. People pay by bank or by card. A Gift payment sends a NZ donation receipt.
- What do I tell diners?
- Scan the QR, order on your phone, pay as usual — no app to download.
- What does it cost?
- See pricing for Free, Starter, Growth, and Enterprise. Sixty days to try it. Talk to us to start, or book a demo.
